OPTO means best in Latin. To become leaders, we need to find and bring out our best: our best qualities, our best strengths, our best questions and thoughts, our full potential. When we endeavor to constantly bring our best to our lives then we have committed to continuously developing our leadership core. We own our life!

OPTO Model

OPTO also stands for Outlook, Passion, Talent, and Optimum Priorities and that is the OPTO Leadership Core Model.

Talent forms the base of the triangle because we are born with talents, we do not choose them. We do have a choice to develop them into strengths and use them in the most productive way. Talents are the tools that we use to make the other 3 components of the OPTO model come to life and  become powerful.

Your Outlook on how you interact with the world, or your worldview, is made up of your beliefs and your values.   Your beliefs influence your actions and interactions with yourself and others. Your values create consistency in your life’s journey.

The Optimum Priorities are the directions to ensuring your actions daily, weekly and monthly are focused so you do not lose your way or get distracted from your life success milestones and destinations.

Finally, Passion, also referred to as your  purpose, teaches you how to use the other 3 components. Our passion is what we LOVE to do, not what we are good at. Passion is what fuels the fire within us.

When you get that “high”, when you feel yourself “glow”, or in those times when you know you are doing your personal best life’s work, you are using all the aspects of your leadership core: the OPTO model components.

In our workshops, we defined characteristics of the person we would most want to follow with total commitment. Do you remember that person?

Review your reasons following this person and note how they have developed their leadership core components.  Chances are, you will easily see how they have developed and honed their OPTO components that make up their leadership core.  These leaders inspire us by taking control of their lives and living their individual life’s journey purposefully.
